Our experienced Austswim qualified teachers tailor lessons to suit individual children. Their accumulated knowledge of teaching provides lessons that are fun, balanced and consistent to allow ease of swimmer progression.
The facility is the home of Mountain Creek Mooloolaba (Makos) Swim Club and host the Buderim Waterpolo Club. We also provide the community with public lap swimming lanes, an Aqua Aerobics program and we implement an invaluable aquatic education program for our local schools.
NATHAN GREIG - HEAD COACH
Nathan has been coaching for over 20 years. In his youth, he was a competitive National Age Swimmer and Captain of the Queensland Surf life Saving Team. Nathan has developed squads from youth champions through to world champions and Kellogs Nutri Grain series athletes. Nathan has worked alongside a series of high-performance swim coaches over the past 10 years, enhancing his knowledge whilst developing best practices.
jARMO HAST - ASSISTANT SWIM COACH
Jarmo has a background as a competitive Triathlete, spending years on the professional circuit and ultimately placing 3rd at the World Titles. Jarmo’s coaching skills have been mentored by Australian Swim Team coaches as he developed his passion. Jarmo has outstanding technical knowledge of all strokes and skills, this combined with his own experiences of elite training and understanding tolerances of the body and mind, ensure all his athletes are peaking when it counts.
JUDY MONAGHAN - LEARN TO SWIM MANAGER
Judy’s love swimming has been a lifetime pursuit, successfully operating her own swim school for over a decade before taking on roles as a Learn to Swim Manager and overseeing teams of dedicated teachers. Judy’s in-depth knowledge of age-appropriate teaching has been honed through practical experience, knowing what each child needs to move to the next step. Judy’s kind nurturing nature develops an atmosphere for all families to feel welcomed.
corinne britain - junior development
Corinne has made the transition from competitive swimmer into the coaching ranks brining a wealth of knowledge that can only be learnt through experience. Corinne has 8 years’ experience developing young swimmers from learn to swim into mini squads. Corinne specialises in stroke correction and laying the foundations for a competitive future.
miss mel - learn to swim
Mel is one of a kind. A teacher that former students bring their newborn babies to for the same experience they enjoyed. Mel’s ability to provide, fun, caring and inclusive lessons is legendary. Miss Mel has been teaching for over 20 years providing all families with memories and skills that last a lifetime.
julie martin
Julie brings a passion and flare to teaching young swimmers that parents and children fall in love with. Always energetic, happy and inventive, Julie makes swim time fun and has children learning new skills with a smile on their face. Julie specialises in Adult Learn to Swim, private swimming lessons and working with children will additional needs.
sarah mcgrath - learn to swim
A former National Age Swimmer and Australian Life Saving Medalists, Sarah has experience and knowledge on her side. A warm caring person with an infectious smile, Sarah who knows how to enhance the swimming experience. Sarah is a pre-service teacher, continues to compete in Surf Lifesaving events and volunteers as a Surf Rescue and Pool Rescue coach.
kiara rychvalsky - learn to swim
One of the most outgoing and bubbly personalities you will ever meet. Kiara brings excitement and flare to lessons! Kiara has gone through the ranks of learn to swim and squad swimming and spends quality time surfing. Kiara is a natural talent in all sports and is shining in the realm of representative soccer and athletics.
lucy harris - learn to swim
A warm, calm, and engaging soul, Lucy has an ability to quickly form bonds with young swimmers and will have your young ones at ease in moments. Born into a swimming and watersports loving family, Lucy has grown up understanding the aquatic environment. Lucy is undergoing a degree in clinical exercise physiology which demonstrates her committment to sport and supporting others to reach their potential.
